Patient Assistance Programs – Demystified

Pharmaceutical products represent a significant cost component of an employer’s health benefits plan. For plan sponsors, that may not be a bad thing, particularly if plan members can remain on the job and perform effectively. However, plan sponsors often want to ensure that good value is being received for the benefits dollars being spent. One of the less visible value-adds that come with some prescribed drugs is the support from patient assistance programs.
